Welcome to my library

this is just a record of books i've read along with how far i've gotten in reading them. i'm hoping that by making a page for them i'll be motivated to finish the 'unfinishables'.

Fiction

Suzanne Collins

- The Hunger Games Trilogy

- The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

- Sunrise on the Reaping

Yaa Gyasi

- Homegoing

Tanya Landman

- Buffalo Soldier

Jasper Fforde

- The Eyre Affair

- The Well of Lost Plots

- Something Rotten

(i read "Jane Eyre" because of "The Eyre Affair". there were too many references i was missing in the first few chapters in TEA so i stopped, read "Jane Eyre" and once i was all caught up, i realised after continuing with TEA that i didn't have to read the original. i enjoyed Charlotte Brontë's writing so i'm glad i read it.)

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

- Purple Hibiscus

- Americanah

(i read her books as class readers in highschool and i found them to be an example of the conversations surrounding classism, feminism and religious trauma that exist in my community. i found out she's transphobic so i'd suggest sailing the high seas if you want to read these.)

Adekeye Adebajo

- The Trial of Cecil John Rhodes

Chinua Achebe

- Things Fall Apart

Non-fiction

Steve Biko

- I write what I like

Kwame Nkrumah

- Neo-colonialism: The Last Stage of Imperialism(12% complete)

Friedrich Engels & Karl Marx

- The Communist Manifesto (49% complete)

Michael Parenti

- Blackshirts & Reds (58% complete)

Franz Fanon

- Wretched of the Earth (4% complete)

V.I. Lenin

- The State and Revolution (19% complete)

Documentaries

Breakthrough News

- Cuba After Castro: The Island in the Crosshairs | Feature Documentary

BoyBoy

- Can I sneak this boat through a military blockade?

(i think i've watched all of boyboy's videos and i feel that him and 'i did a thing' do a good job juggling history and politics/current events with humour while being very informative.)
